Worked exactly as I had hoped did a great job for veggies with the exception that it is a true pain in the whatever to clean.
The clasp is kind of hard to open but this thing is awesome at cooking wings. French fries and hot dogs.
It works great with our bbq and we cook a bunch of stuff in here. It is pretty annoying to clean so I suggest immediately getting it soaked in the sink after it cools down from bbqing.
Worked perfectly for our needs. Have Napoleon gas grill and classic KJ seen in video. Only complaint is I would prefer thumb screws similar to what in on the rotisserie.
Yes its works well for wings ,,as other reviewers said oil the wire first helps with clean up >>>> It was not hard to clean >>>> Must have for a Napoleon Grill >>>
This is a quality product that works well for chicken wings. That's all I have used it for so far but it did a fine job. I use this with a Kamado Joe Classic III and its a tight but workable fit. As has been discussed, the screws to hold it to the spit rod have to be turned just right in order to clear the Joe TIsserie. I replaced the large screws with smaller thumb screws like found on rotisserie forks. Works like a charm now. I recommend the product.
Chicken WINGS! WOW, they are fantastic with this cage. You can put around 2 dozen small wings in the basket. Anymore and they wont be able to tumble and cook more evenly. I would not put any type of sauce on until after you have cooked and removed them from the basket, and that goes for just about anything your going to cook in the basket. You can put Olive-Oil and Dry-Rubs on, but that's about it, at least half of any rub will fall off during the rotisserating! New Word! Fun add-on to my grill. (Tip), coat the inside/outside of the basket heavily with Olive-Oil, better for meats as they don't stick nearly as much and will tumble better and the Olive-Oil really helps for clean-up! I wish the small clamps to secure the basket to the Skewer were LARGER! That's my only nit-pick! Enjoy!
Cooked wings with it. Did a great job getting the wings cooked but the metal grate has sharp edges that traps food particles and cuts the cleaning pad. Put it in the dishwasher and that got it 98% clean. Can't wait to use it again.
Easy to assembly. Used for marinated vegetables (broccoli, potatoes, brussel sprouts, butternut squash, onions) on the gas grill. To cut down on grilling time, I par boiled the broccoli and brussel sprouts and put the potatoes, onions and squash in the microwave for a few minutes. Put them in a bowl with marinade overnight. The next day I cooked them in the basket on the grill for 1/2 hour. They were delicious. I rinsed the basket then put in the dishwasher - came out sparkling.
Excellent basket, we cooked chicken wings and veggies so far
I liked the idea of the rotisserie basket. I use with mushrooms and onions and enjoy doing potatoes while the rest cooks.
This things is amazing!! It is very well made, versatile, and just the right size. I also own the OneGrill Performer Series Universal Fit Grill Rotisserie Spit Rod Basket; Stainless Steel Tumble & Flat Basket in One. While the latter is nice, as well, the Napoleon is more versatile, far easier to use and clean, and does not require the removal of grill grates, etc. that the OneGrill requires even on my commercial Bull Angus grill. You can cook chicken wings (probably its best use), loose kabobs and veggies, potatoes, fries, etc. Possibilities are endless. The lugs to tighten to the spit are robust and large allowing for a good purchase. A must have.
This is very easy to use and fit very well to my skewer. The vegetables were evenly roasted.
We used our basket to do a homemade version of al pastor. We took our rotisserie tong to skewer the pork, pineapple and onions. Placed everything into the basket so it did not fall out. Then we put it inside our Kamado Joe and closed the lid for about 1.5 hours. Al pastor was absolute perfection!
The item was sturdy and worked great. I ended up doing chicken wings and flipped my basket by hand because my rotisserie motor wouldn’t work. It was super easy to use and clean up afterwards
This basket is GREAT for making BBQ wings. I don't even cut them apart! Toss in seasoned corn starch and spray with a tiny bit of oil and those babies will crisp up perfectly on the Joe-Tisserie! The interior of the basket has little "wings" that keep the contents separated and evenly spread through the basket. Not too shabby! Use a soft brush and a little bit of elbow grease to clean it and you are all set!
I used this in my Big Green Egg and the wings were great! I sprayed it first with cooking spray which made clean up easy.
